Introduction
Welcome to PickersPay ("PickersPay," "we," "our," or "us"). PickersPay is a software platform that enables vendors to accept payments via QR codes and NFC-based methods using third-party payment processors such as Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our platform, including our mobile application (the "App").
Key Platform Clarification
PickersPay is a software technology provider and platform, not a payment processor, money transmitter, or merchant of record. To be clear:
- PickersPay does not receive, hold, control, or transmit funds at any time
- PickersPay is not a payment processor, money transmitter, or merchant of record
- Payments occur directly between the customer and vendor via Stripe (or your selected payment processor)
- All payment processing, authorization, settlement, and compliance are handled exclusively by Stripe pursuant to Stripe's own terms
All payment information is collected and handled directly by Stripe in accordance with Stripe's privacy policies. PickersPay does not access or store payment credentials.
Information We Collect
A. Information You Provide
- Name
- Email address
- Phone number (if provided)
- Account or vendor profile information
- Product or listing information (vendors)
B. Transaction-Related Information
We may receive limited transaction-related data associated with your use of the Service, including:
- Transaction amount and timestamp
- Payment method used (e.g., QR code, tap-to-pay)
- Device type and operating system
- Transaction status
- Recovery attribution data (e.g., whether QR checkout followed a failed tap-to-pay attempt)
We do not collect or store full payment card details. All payment data is processed directly by Stripe.
C. Location Data
If you grant location permission, we collect GPS coordinates at the time of each transaction to enable signal intelligence features, venue-level analytics, and event organizer reporting, as described further in Section 4 below. You may revoke location permission at any time through your device settings, though certain features may be limited as a result.
D. Automatically Collected Information
- IP address
- Device type and browser type
- Usage data (pages viewed, interactions, session activity)
E. Aggregated and Anonymized Data
PickersPay may aggregate and anonymize transaction data to generate market insights, signal intelligence reports, and analytics. PickersPay owns all rights to such aggregated and anonymized data consistent with the Terms of Service.
Device Permissions and Hardware Access
When you use the PickersPay mobile application, we may request access to certain device hardware and features. Each permission is requested only for the specific purpose described below and is not used for any other purpose without your consent.
A. Camera
The App requests access to your device camera solely to scan QR codes for the purpose of initiating or receiving payments through the platform. Camera access is used only while you are actively engaged in a scanning session. We do not capture, record, store, or transmit images or video from your camera.
B. Location — When In Use
The App requests access to your precise location while the App is in the foreground ("When In Use") to enable location-relevant features, including surfacing nearby vendors, confirming transaction context, and collecting GPS coordinates at the time of transactions to support venue-level analytics and signal intelligence features described in the Terms of Service. Location data is not shared with third parties for advertising or profiling purposes. You may disable location access at any time through your device settings; however, some location-dependent features may not function without it.
C. Location — Always On / Background
If you opt in to background location access ("Always"), the App may use your location when the App is not in the foreground to provide features such as proximity-based vendor discovery or check-in functionality. This permission is strictly optional and is requested only if you choose to enable background features. You may change this setting at any time in your device's privacy or location settings.
D. Bluetooth
The App requests access to Bluetooth to detect or connect with nearby point-of-sale hardware or Bluetooth-enabled payment peripherals for the purpose of facilitating QR-code or contactless transactions. Bluetooth access is used only to enable these device-pairing functions and is not used to track your location or to communicate with devices unrelated to the PickersPay platform.
